TREASURED FRIEND
Author Unknown
Theme from Forrest Gump
I lost a treasured friend today,
The little dog that used to lay,
Her gentle head upon my knee,
And share her silent thoughts with me.
She'll come no longer to my call,
Retrieve no more her favorite ball,
A voice far greater than my own,
Has called her to His golden throne.
Although my eyes are wet with tears,
I thank Him for the happy years,
He let her spend down here with me,
And for her love and loyalty.
When it is time for me to go,
And join her there, this much I know,
I will not fear the transient dark,
For she will greet me with her bark!
DEAR FAMILY
Dear Family,
I just wanted to let you know that I made it Home,
the journey wasn't an easy one, but it didn't take too long.
Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh and new,
I wish that you could close your eyes and that you could see it too.
Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand,
God is taking care of me. I'm in the shelter of His hands.
Here there is no sadness, no sorrow, and no pain,
here there is no crying and I'll never hurt again.
Here it is so peaceful when all the angels sing,
I really have to go for now... I've just got to try my wings.
