The
"A" Litter
A lovely litter of eight - four males and four females - was born during the night (of
course) on March 6, 1990. Unfortunately, "Holly" stepped on one when they were
only a few days old and we were down to seven.
This was a very special litter, not only because it was our first, but because we were
the proud owners of both parents:
Sire: Can/Am Ch. Butterblac's Excalibur CDX, WC, Am CD - "Denver"
Dam: Can Ch. Butterblac's Autograph CD, WC - "Holly"
The puppies in the litter were:
Males:
Autograph's Abracadabra - "Magic" (1990 -
1996)
Can. Ch. Autograph's Achilles - "Caesar" (1990
- 2001)
Autographs' April Black Putter - "Denver Jr."
Can/Am. Ch. Autograph's At Point Blank CD, WC - "Axl"
(1990 - 2001)
Females:
Autograph's Alpha Miami Knight - "Jessie" (1990 - 1998)
Autograph's Apres Nois - "Shelby"
Ch. Autograph's Ailsa CD, WC - "Ailsa" (1990 -
1998)
Special Information:
Axl was a consistent group placer and was in the Top 5 conformation
Flat-Coats in Canada. He was also the winner of the Stud Dog class at the 1996 FCRSA
Specialty in Minnesota. His kids went in the brood bitch class at the 1999 FCRSA Specialty
in Rhode Island and helped their mom, Am. Ch. Fancy's Spice of Life UD, TDX, OA, NAJ, win
the class. A son is been inducted into the Flat-Coated Retriever Society of America's Hall
of Fame. Axl was a wonderful companion who came to stay with us for a short time in his
later years and brought much happiness to our household. He ended his long and happy life
living on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia with Michelle.
Ailsa was the first Flat-Coat owned by Jennifer - she's on her third
one right now! She was winner of Best Puppy in Breed at the 1990 Flat-Coated Retriever
Society of Canada Specialty show held in London, Ont.
"Ailsa" finishing her Canadian championship.
"Axl" as a young dog.
"Jessie" at almost a year of age.
