5.6 Use of the "Cross-table"
(Shift-F5, Shift-F6,Shift-F4)

The powerful flexible tool of the UNIDAT program is also function of creation of the cross table. With its help it is possible automatically to create the tables of resulting data, in which as in rows, and the columns can be repeating real databases given from any two fields. On crossings of lines and columns of these tables amount of records with concurrence of those and other data or sum of meanings of any numerical field at such records will be counted.
The amount of the various tables with all possible combinations of such orders is very great, many of them, certainly, will not caus of practical interest in daily activity of the experts on a specific database (and some even will not have of any reasonable sense), but it shows, that including for huge amount of practical needs of the consumers of the given information the powerful mechanism of the given function by skilful use can appear the very useful operative tool and in a numbers of cases and irreplaceable.
To use opportunities of this function it is necessary to carry out following:
               1. To establish the cursor on a field, on data from which lines of the table will be constructed and to press a combination of keys Shift-F5 ("Vertical list").
               2. To establish the cursor on a field, list of data from which will be generated columns of the table and to press a combination of keys Shift-F6 ("Horizontal list").
               And all is completed!
At once after it will be automatically generated and is deduced on the screen formated for print the necessary table - report, filled counted on the given combination of fields by data.

If it is required that the table was filled not by amount of records, satisfying given conditions, and the total meaning on any numerical field from these records - requires before start on execution of function of creation of the table (before to press Shift-F6), to carry out a choice of a field, on which data will be summarized. This field should without fail be numerical. For a choice of a field, on which data will be summarized, it is necessary to put on this field the cursor and to press a combination of keys Shift-F4 ("Choixe a field for summation"). The same keys can be and for switching mode of summation off.

The modes of a conclusion of the table are set the same as and at a simple print, described in item " Print of the simple lists ".
