President's
Message
Our
club first formed in 1987 to cover the greater Delaware Valley area
including
New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania and Philadelphia, and New York City
including
Long Island areas. Our reach is far. We also have associate members
from
as far away as Florida! Given the wide area, it has been difficult to
plan
meetings so we have tried many alternatives such as having meetings at
point shows, meetings at half-way point restaurants, taking turns
holding
meetings at member's homes. It hasn't been easy to find a solution, but
we are always open to suggestions and try to satisfy the needs of the
majority.
We are a small close knit group, determined to move ahead and make plans for the club to provide future activities. Our major problem is that there are so few members who are willing to take on an active role in the club, making it hard for us to take on major projects. As such, our immediate goal is to find those members of the Pomeranian fancy who would like to join a club that wishes to work hard at providing activities to educate the public, to provide services such as rescue for our breed, and to generally offer projects to our membership for all to enjoy!!
That is point to my message. Should you find this proposition appealing, than give me a call. The DVPC needs you! And, welcomes all whether they be in our area or those Pomeranian Fanciers who would like to join as associate members to show their support for our regional club. Since we have a small treasury and offer support of Pom rescue in our area, we most certainly need financial support to cover the cost of rescuing Poms from kill shelters and other general administrative expenses. Donations are welcomed and desperately needed!
