Like the ripples on the

are the wrinkles on our

On the cover of "Life" magazine,
January, 1979 issue, was a Chinese Shar-Pei. The story interested my sister and
I so much that we purchased one from Dugan Skinner of Shir Du Chinese Shar-Pei.
Since my sister was working full time as an R.N., I took on the care of
"Sa-Lin's the Black Moon of Chen Ho", our first Chinese Shar-Pei (Registration
number R#258). Her sire was Albright's Ho-Hsiung (R#31) and her dam was Walnut
Lanes China Chen Chu (R#14). She was pictured in the Guinness Book of World
Records representing the Chinese Shar-Pei as the rarest dog breed at that time.
I am Member #50 of the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America. The Chinese Shar-Pei is
a wonderful breed, almost human in some aspects with the puppies more like
little adults. Shar-Pei are so intelligent, and at times can be a challenge; you
have to be smarter than the dog! We are a small kennel with our Chinese Shar-Pei
kept in the house as family members. Each Chinese Shar-Pei is special and has so
much to offer.
The following pages are dedicated to Moon, our first Chinese Shar-Pei who made our love for the breed come true.
