It's important for People and Pooches to get involved. I volunteer to drive the clam tractor every year in Seattle's Torchlight Parade. Here is a picture.

IMPORTANT!

Pet Owners fOr in-City Housing Equality Standards

After spending the last 3 months searching for a rental house in the Seattle area in vain, one phrase rings horribly through my head time and time again
NO PETS
NO PETS
NO PETS
Where are all the pet friendly property-owners? People have even had the audacity to suggest getting rid of my dogs! As if they are some frivolous toys that I should just dispose of! Many places don't accept people with children, are you going to give away your children or have them euthanized because you can't find a good rental?? NO! When you become a pet owner, you are promising the same lifelong commitment of loyalty and care that you do to a child. If you don't believe that, you shouldn't become a pet owner. Just give me a fenced yard and my pooches will be happy! I will pay a pet deposit! I am interested in starting an Internet database of resources for urban pet owners, including groomers, dogwalking services, veterinarians, pet-friendly parks, and most importantly HOUSING! If you own a business or are a member of an organization or know of any business or organization who caters to the needs of the urban pet owner, contact me at
clamdriver@bigfoot.com

UPDATE!

Well, the pooches and I have found a place finally, fenced yard included! They are happy little doots now and we even have an abandoned school across the street where I can let them chase tennis balls and frolic. I haven't gotten any substantial responses to my efforts to organize, but I have yet to give up hope!

I try to stay involved, you should too. Here are some links to People and Pooches.

No Puppy Mills!

Stop Puppy Mills! I should know, I came from one. It's a good thing my owners love me, because bad breeding and neglect at the puppy mill has left me with health problems that my owners have to care for me constantly. Don't let this happen to other puppies! This site will help you decide what makes a reputable breeder.

Also I want to highly recommend my groomers. Even though I am almost 4yrs old, I still have my "puppy fur" which makes me hard to groom. Not to mention the fact that I hate having my fur cut! But the People at Pupppy Love always take great care of me and Other-Girl wanted to recommend them to you. She doesn't get a discount or anything for this, she just thinks they do a terrific job. See my before and after pics.

So if you live in Western Washington here is how to get ahold of them.
