NBC Triple Challenge
Planned policy changes for the 2002 event

Beagle Breed Overview & FAQ's Field Work & Organized Beagle Foot Packs Visit Brushy Run Beagles

Every year, we have situations arise that inspire us to make changes and adjustments to the manner in which the NBC Triple Challenge event is organized. Some are intended simply to help the event run more smoothly. Others are meant to close "loop holes" in the rules and regulations, or to provide for improved safety and security for our exhibitors, their hounds, and the historic artifacts housed at Institue Farm. With that in mind, the NBC Triple Challenge committee have agreed to implement the following changes for the 2002 event:

1) CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) Field Champions of record are considered qualified for entry in the NBC Triple Challenge. This has always been the position of the committee, but will now be added to the list of qualifications listed in the premium list and on the official TC entry forms.

2) In addition to the limit of one (1) entry per owner/co-owner, we will be further restricting entries to a maximum of two (2) per household/immediate family. (Immediate family to include husband/wife or "significant other", children/stepchildren, and all minor age siblings.) Final decision as to the eligibility of any individual hound to be determined by the event committee.

3) Meals are by advance reservations only. There will be an increase in cost for any meals not reserved and paid for by the specified cut-off date. (For example, breakfast reserved and paid for prior to April 18th costs $6; breakfast purchased at Aldie without an advance reservation would cost $8.)

4) Spectators will no longer be welcome to stay over-night at Institute Farm, UNLESS they are traveling with an exhibitor/handler or judge to attend the event... or they are regular NBC members who are known to us. Any exceptions to this rule must be pre-approved by the event committee!

Lodging will continue to be offered to our exhibitors, by advance reservation only, and anyone staying over-night on the grounds will be assessed a lodging fee; this goes towards the expenses of maintaining the historic property of Intstitute Farm (formerly part of Oak Hill, the home of President James Monroe). Spectators will still be welcome to attend the event during daylight hours, but will need to arrange for over-night lodging elsewhere.
