Dog Treats--P.A.W.S.
Treats For Your Pooch
There is no better way to pamper your pooch than by making homemade goodies! And- check out the recipes at the end for every HOUSE with a dog! These recipes should get you cooking in the right direction! Remember that not all food that's good for humans is good for dogs. Foods to avoid giving your dog include turkey, pork, chocolate, onions, salt, processed sugar, soy--and rich prepared foods your dog's digestive system can't handle. Also keep in mind that dogs can't digest corn, so if you find a recipe that calls for corn meal, try using rice flour (which you can find in most health food stores).
If you have any other tried and true recipes that your dog just loves, please send them so that they may be posted here for others to enjoy!

Mint Balls
- 1 cup of water
- 2 drops of mint oil-- again, an extract may be used
- 1 tennis ball
- NOW- combine the liquid ingredients in a bowl; roll the ball around in the solution for approximately 15 minutes until well absorbed; allow ball to dry. This is a great way to keep your dog's breath fresh on a daily basis and gives renewed life to an old tennis ball!
Doggie Cologne
- Almond Oil Base-- this is good for their coats
- Any type of essential oil-- particularly citronella, tea tree, and cedar which are all great for their skin and repels fleas
- NOW- combine the ingredients using a 60% to 40% ratio of base oil to essential oil. Transfer solution to a small spritz bottle and shake well before use. This is good for those times when you can't give your dog a bath right before company comes over. He will smell wonderful and it'll help him maintain his coat and repel fleas, too!
Room Spray
- 1 cup of water
- 2 drops of essential oil (jasmine, citrus, lavendar, etc.)
- NOW- combine these ingredients and pour into a spray bottle, shake well. This solution can be sprayed wherever the dog sleeps and plays in order to give the room a fresher scent. This solution can be adjusted to your own tastes rather than buying those aerosol sprays at the stores with over-powering fragrances. Happy mixing!!!
