It's been two years now since he has passed and I still miss him..He was just an exceptional dog. Made an akita lover out of me. Comments: First, let me thank you for sharing the news of your beautiful baby's award, and two paws up for the two of you! Second, I rescued a 6-8 week old female akita two days ago from animal control. Some breeder's next door neighbors noticed that a puppy got out... since the breeders were out of town, this not so nice nieghbor called animal control...the county is so over run with dogs, that whatever the dayshift brings in without tags, gets put down by the night shift! Well, now I have an Akita, female, 6-8 weeks old and would like to know more about her. When do the ears stand up and she doesn't have a white chest like the ones I see in the photos...she has the markings of a dark german sheppard...and the temper of the tazmainian devil, but sweet...
