Doing a Remote Allergy trial or The T- Shirt test !

Another great source of information on allergies and dogs and in particular the AHT is WMK.

How to do a Remote test

What you will need:
1. 2 Express large envelopes
2. 1 or 2 T shirts
3. 1 or 2 gallon size zip lock baggies

Next:
Address one mailer to the breeder and the 2nd to yourself. Be sure to apply postage to the return mailer.

Place T-shirt in baggie and mail all the above to the breeder who will in turn have a hairless terrier sleep with the T shirt.

If you have any concerns about the accuracy of this test. Place a 2nd T shirt with Ziplock™ type bag in the envelope as well as a 2nd self addressed and stamped mailer in the express mailer. The breeder will then also have a T shirt to place with a coated dog.

When you get them back. Wear the T that has been exposed to the hairless dog first. If no reaction ensues.... wear the 2nd T shirt. Should you have a reaction to it... you will know the test worked and you CAN tolerate this breed of dog. :)
