Pet Diet

Cats
Bags of Dental Diet (silver bag)
Bags of Hairball Dry Food
Supplement with occasional frozen tunafish or canned catfood when feeding it to dogs, also Barley CAt/Dog and Garlic & Yeast Powders
Both cats hunt and eat bugs and rodents as they are indoor/outdoor pets

Purrcy is a longhair- therfor requiring special grooming and hairball "paste" put on his paw or lips to lick off every couple of days.

Mittens is healthy. she used to have dental problems but they seem to be minimizing as she is getting better care.

Dogs
Bags of Fatty Acid Omega 3 Dry Dog Food to supplement the BARF diet
Bags of Moist-N-Meaty in treat Cubes or as training aid
Raw Soup Bones/ Cow Heals/ Marrow bones
very lightly cooked beef hearts, discounted beef, chicken, and other meats
Discounted fish canned in oil fish, Cod Liver Oil, (never trash fish or sea roaches....only kosher)
Garlic & Yeast Powder, BArley Dog, Peanut Butter, sometimes canned catfood
Rice, Potatoes, whatever veggie or fruit I am eating

Both Border Collies require more fatty acid, peanut butter for their coats and Bulking type foods to maintain weight, less fruit veggies although some is good.

Coal is overweight and requires more veggies (very little dryfood or rice/potatoes) mixed with meat, oils, and powder. they say pumpkin bloats up the stomach causing you to feel full faster. good dieting food for dogs.

Reese & Coal don't play with their mouths as often as Ace. Aces teeth are great for a dog because of constant ball/frisbee/tug/fetch. Reese & Coal should get the larger sized Soup Bones and encouraged to chew compressed rawhide sticks

all pets should get no to minimal dairy if at all possible. only if you are giving them leftover people food. I also avoid feeding them hot-spicy types of food.

they are allowed on rare occasions to eat sugar candy, just not chocolate. Dogs eat James Nutter-Butters all the time. sometimes chips and crackers, but only if I am aware of the ingredients and it doesn't conflict with any of the NO-NO's.

Outdoor Squirrels & Birds
Compost Heap of veggie peels, uneating veggies, egg shells, rotten fruits & veggies
Bulk Bird Seed of all varieties
Hummingbird Water & Bird Bath (ace likes to drink from the birdbath and clean out the poopies!)
Trees in yard (cherry, persimmon, & those little nuts)

we don't worry too much about the squirrels eating birdseed, only of tearing up the birdfeeders. we lure the birds and squirrels to the backyard to amuse the dogs and cats, and apparently the black snakes.

we usually ignore the snakes until they start hanging out on the front porch or in the garage. even then, we still sometimes leave them unless we are not in a hurry and figure they might be thinking about moving indoors.

we've seen foxes and deer also in the yard. someday hope to be putting out "deer feeding blocks". possibly plant more fruit in the backyard so we won't have to use deer feeding blocks to lure them in. 1
