Hops

Hello there! My name is Hops. My story is a good example of why so many pet shop Iggies wind up in IG Rescue. We just make SUCH cute puppies in the window, and the pet shops don't educate buyers properly on the many challenges and joys of living with an IG. That's why my old family turned me in... I was just more needy than they were prepared to handle when they brought me home!

I came into Rescue in July 2002, when I was about nine months old. Angela picked me up, and it didn't take long to see what an affectionate disposition I had. Angela turned me over to Patti, the Maryland rep, who was visiting Pittsburgh and thought that she might have a perfect home waiting for me... but even Patti didn't realize just how perfect!

Patti took me from Pittsburgh to Maryland. I was in Rescue for just one day when Patti took me along for a home visit in Ellicott City... and my new family fell in love with me so quickly that they asked Patti if they could adopt me on the spot! I was a little shy at first, but it didn't take long for me to settle in with my new family!

My new mom and dad, Dana and Zack, love to spoil me with affection... looking at my handsome face, can you blame them?! I love to chase my daddy around the house and then snuggle up with my mommy for a nap.

I go to the dog park every day and play with the other small dogs, including another IG rescue named Slick! I can outrun almost every dog there, except for another IG girl named Cocoa. What is even more amazing is that I could outrun them even with my leg problem... one of my legs turned out to the side, likely from a leg break that I had before my first family brought me home, that never healed properly. Since I am so young, my family decided that I should have surgery to make my leg all better for my long and happy life with my new family!

I am so happy in my new home, and my parents just can't imagine their life without me. In fact, they are planning to get a little IG brother or sister for me real soon! I am so glad that I found my way to IG Rescue and to my wonderful new home!
