A long time ago, in a place called Kansas City, me and my brother Jack were kept in a metal shed with another very big dog. We didn't have any heat, just a light. Our people were moving, and had decided not to take us with them.

Somehow, an angel named Esther Ryan found out about us Iggies and took us in. We were still a little scared, though, and we found a way to crawl behind the paneling in her basement to try to get away. But Esther was so patient with us as she nursed us back to health!

Meanwhile, I didn't know it, but my new family had already started looking for me! They filled out an application for IG Rescue and talked to Esther about me. Then they talked to Niki about bringing me to the IG Speciality show in Ravenna that August. But the more they thought about it, they decided that it would be best if I had more time with my new family before school started -- so they called Esther and said they were on their way! They packed up Barney -- my new brother! -- and headed for Kansas City.

Three days later, we were all in a new place called Pennsylvania -- and our lives have haven't been the same since! My family says that I have really taken over the place! I'm pretty calm with my new mom and dad, but I still can't help myself from barking at my new human brother when he comes into the house! What can I say, I'm just playful!

My new parents used to have me on a leash inside the house, so they could catch me when they wanted to work with me or have me come, but now I run around the house without a collar! And I still won't usually come when my family calls me, but I usually give them "that look" as I scamper away so they know I knew exactly what they meant! But they know my weak points -- they'll just ignore me and sit down at the dining room table, and I'll be there before you can say FOOD! (I didn't get a whole lot to eat when I lived in that shed with the other dogs, so I'm kind of a scavenger now -- oh, I guess I can just admit it, I'm a glutton <g>. I'll eat anything you hand me without even smelling it!)

Another thing that I was starved for in my last home was affection -- but I don't have that problem anymore! I'll go right up to my new family and start pawing until I get some attention -- or when Barney is getting attention, I can put my adorable little face between them and wiggle my whole body in until Barney leaves. Works like a charm! My new mom and dad say that I am now officially spoiled, and I can't help but agree! And I love it!

I want to give a great big WOOF of thanks to Esther, Niki, and most of all, my new family -- I feel like the luckiest dog in the whole wide world!
