Hi! My name is Rocky, and I am a
greyt dog who is looking for an equally greyt forever home! I am a long-legged, graceful boy, about 15 1/2 inches tall at the
shoulder. I am three years old, and have just been brought up to date on my shots and
neutered. At 14 1/2 pounds, I am a little thin right now, but am slowly putting on the
couple of pounds I need! I currently have a mild bacterial skin infection that is being
treated with antibiotics.
I am extremely gentle, sweet and loving! Even the vet said
that I am a very nice dog. I didn't even cry or whine at the vet; I seemed to understand
that the doctor was helping me.
I was turned in to IG Rescue primarily because I was having
some separation anxiety problems at my former home. I haven't had any problems at my
foster home yet, but I will really need to be in my crate whenever I'm left at home alone.
At my former home, I was alone for about 9 hours per day, and it would be so nice if I
could be more a part of my new family, go lots of places and have someone around with me
as often as possible! A calm environment without too much commotion would be wonderful for
me. |

When I first came in to Rescue, I
wasn't very familiar with being on a leash. But I am learning how to walk nicely on a
leash at my foster home and am getting better with each day! I am learning to leash-walk
on a harness for now, and we will switch to a martingale collar as I learn not to pull. I
am deceptively strong for my Iggy stature! I really
don't like being left alone in my crate, but as I mentioned, it is extremely important for
me to use it when I am at home alone so that I don't get into any trouble. After I've been
in my crate for a little while, I get used to it and settle down. My limit right now is
about two hours in my crate without getting fidgety, whiny or scratching to get out, but I
am getting better every day.
I am not at all aggressive, but do like to have my own way,
so it is important that my forever home is willing to be consistent with me, reinforce my
commands and not let me be "pushy." Some obedience training might be a good idea
to ensure my continued success in my new home, and also to help bond me even closer to my
new people!
Did I mention that I'm extremely friendly to everyone, both
human and canine? I am a big tail wagger, and my whole body wags along with my tail! I'm
not much of a kisser, but I am a great lap dog and will "nose" your ears when we
cuddle. I have a funny little kick that I like to do after I potty, and I have an
especially beautiful prance and gait.
I love to go outside (on a leash or in a fenced yard, of
course!), and I absolutely love to snuggle under a blanket, lay on a warm lap and get
scratched and petted. Is there room under your blankets and on your lap for a terrific dog
like me? Please contact Angela and
let her know!! |
