Like my old friends Ruby and Timber, I was a puppymill matron at an Amish farm before I was rescued. Kelly Graham fostered me before I was placed at my new, wonderful forever home in Pittsburgh!
Unlike most former mill matrons, my mom reports that I never had a period where I had to come out of my shell. I was out of it from the first day that I met my new people... I am quite a character!
Mom says that I am so friendly and affectionate, and that I just love everyone. I especially love my Whippet sister, Lily, who is always happy to snuggle with me!
Could Lily and I possibly be any cuter together?
I also love to play tug of war with our 90 pound greyhound. Like most Iggies, I have no idea of my small stature! Here, Lily and I are snuggling in our bed while our greyhound looks on. If you look closely, you can see our Wolfhound's paw in the picture too! I'm always bugging our Wolfhound to lick me and take care of me. Like any good IG, I know that I deserve to be pampered and spoiled by everyone!
When I first came to my new family, I had mammory lumps on both sides. The lumps were removed and my family almost lost me during the surgery... the doctors had to use a greyhound for an emergency blood transfusion!
Thankfully, I have made a complete recovery and there have been no more lumps. What a relief for me and my family, because I plan to stick around to enjoy my wonderful new life for many years to come!
In July 2002, all three former mill matrons were reunited at the IG Rescue Parade in Canfield, Ohio. From left to right, here are Timber, Ruby and me with our moms. If we look like three of the happiest dogs around, it's because we are! Thank you so much to everybody who played a part in giving us a second chance to have the wonderful lives that we have always deserved! |
