HISTORY
BLUES AND BLACKS
My first Great Dane was a blue bitch called FOALDOWN FANFARE and she was the foundation for all my blues and blacks today. Tinsel, as she was known, is about 5 generations back now, but I have kept strictly to breeding to pure blue and black colour lines and have never knowingly introduced fawn, brindle or harlequin. Tinsel produced well for me when mated to the German Import ENRICO VOM DRAWEHNER WALD OF ASOUD. From this mating I kept a blue bitch called VANMORE MADISON GIRL -- she won well for me and was an exceptionally good producer herself. In turn, she was mated to BEREVALE WILHELM, an ENRICO VOM DRAWEHNER WALD OF ASOUND grandson. This produced the beautiful VANMORE BLOOMIN' LOVELY and from a repeat mating VANMORE YET ANOTHER SECRET. VANMORE BLOOMIN' LOVELY was to be a star in the show ring. Winning many Best Puppy in Breed and Best Puppy in Show awards. Bonnie Moen of the Famous HOTPOINTS KENNELS in Norway, saw Tinsel on a visit and fell in love with her. And after much discussion and a lot of thought, as I feel she may have become a Champion in this country, I sent her to Norway at 18 months. VANMORE BLOOMIN' LOVELY was the foundation bitch to the Hotpoints Blues and Blacks producing many Champions including the well known INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION HOTPOINTS WELCOME MR. BLUE and his litter sister, INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION HOTPOINTS WE GO BLUE.
From VANMORE BLOOMIN' LOVELY's first litter to the American Import in Sweden, N.U.CHAMPION HALTMEIER'S EDSEL FOR CELEBER, I imported the black dog, HOTPOINTS ON PARADE AT VANMORE. Mated to VANMORE BLOOMIN' LOVELY's sister, VANMORE YET ANOTHER SECRET, they produced the black CHAMPION VANMORE CHECKMATE.
FAWNS AND BRINDLES
Fawns and Brindles were introduced to the Kennel. My first fawn bitch came from the World Famous Helmlake Kennels owned by Karina Le Mare. I imported a fawn and brindle from Ulla Magnusson of the Famous AIRWAYS KENNELS in Sweden. We were privileged to bring to England INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION AIRWAYS EMBLEM who I made up to a U.K. Champion. He was accompanied to this country through quarantine by the brindle bitch, AIRWAYS IATA. She produced well for me and a son sent to Bonnie Moen's Hotpoints Kennels in Norway became a very important Stud Dog and a Big Winner in Scandinavia INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION VANMORE ROYAL ACADEMY. I imported stock from the Hotpoints Kennels and this gave me a firm foundation for my fawns and brindles today. Most notable were the fawn bitch, HOTPOINTS HEATWAVE AT VANMORE who was the mother to my biggest winner to date, CHAMPION VANMORE HOPELESSLY IN LOVE and also the brindle bitch, HOTPOINTS BRILLIANT FLARE AT VANMORE, the mother to CHAMPION VANMORE FOREVER YOUNG AT TYMONELL and CHAMPION VANMORE BRILLIANT DISGUISE AT ACUNA.
I was also honoured and privileged to become a close friend and near neighbour to Miss Jean Lanning of the World Famous CLAUSENTUM GREAT DANES. Her knowledge and influence in Great Danes is renowned and from her old and well-established lines came the brindle Dog, CHAMPION CLAUSENTUM TYSON AT VANMORE.
I have also been a great admirer of The Famous Walkmyll Great Danes owned by Freda and Ron Lewis and have introduced many of their famous Stud Dogs into my lines. CHAMPION WALKMYLL MAYO being the Sire of 3 VANMORE champions.
From America I introduced the American Import DINRO STRICTLY TAYLOR MADE AT VANMORE who has already produced me the fawn dog, CHAMPION VANMORE DIPLOMAT and his sister, VANMORE FANTASTIC, 2 CC's. Also mated to the excellent producing HOTPOINTS BRILLIANT FLARE AT VANMORE came some exciting new prospects for The Millennium by one of the TOP WINNING PUPPIES OF 1999 CASTLEON EL CID AT VANMORE (Bred by Evelyn & Lionel Webb). Cid is sired by CHAMPION CLAUSENTUM TYSON AT VANMORE out of a daughter of CHAMPION VANMORE HOPELESSLY IN LOVE.
HARLEQUINS
My favourite colour. I bought my first Harlequin from the World Famous Helmlake Kennel, HELMLAKE PERFECT FASHION AT VANMORE. She was the foundation for all my Harlequins today. I have kept strictly to the excellent producing Helmlake lines and have only introduced new blood when I imported from Bonnie Moen and her Hotpoints Kennel in Norway, HOTPOINTS TURNAROUND AT VANMORE. Mated to each other, they produced the excellent producing VANMORE SCARLETT O'HARA who in turn mated to HELMLAKE TOPP O' THE MORNING AT CLAUDANE, produced CHAMPION VANMORE JARGON, my constant companion. CHAMPION VANMORE JARGON has been an excellent stud dog producing many winners. Mated to another HOTPOINTS TURNAROUND AT VANMORE daughter, NOTSLAR BARONESS, he produced the dog, MICKALOU HERE WE GO AGAIN AT VANMORE, 2 CC's, 4 RCC's (bred by Mick and Louise Bradford). We enter the Millenium with CHAMPION VANMORE JARGON's daughters, VANMORE TRULY SCRUMPTIOUS and VANMORE TRULY GORGIOUS.
