What I've been up to... will be long!
I've been kind of MIA on here, but that's just my own laziness i think. There's always so much going on for me that although normally i like to vent about it all, t his time, i'm just so overwhelmed with it all that i just haven't been in the mood to even talk a bout anything and to further think of all this stuff.
School is going good. Tomorrow is my last day of this module and then we have a week off. Today's final i actually got a perfect score/grade! I'm sure i won't get a perfect tomorrow, but i know i'll do well enough to keep my 4.0! lol I look at my gradebook online and i have this one B sticking out like a sore thumb in between all the As and well, i wish i could have that changed! lol Direct of Ed and I keep on i guess how should i say it.... busting each other's chops over it, since he was the teacher for that class! lol He told me that if i stay at a 4.0 for all classes and the whole program basically that "may be" he'll make it an A-. LOL that would be nice! So school is going really well.
Kids are doing great! Robert starts kindergarden Aug. 20th. He's so excited as am I! I went and got him some school supplies, but aside from basics that i know he'll need, i'm at a loss as to what else i need to buy because when I registered him for school, I asked what I need to get and the answer I received was "you'll get the list from the teacher on the first day". Well, how nice, make all the parents run out like crazy to stores on the first day rather than may be mailing out a fairly close general list of what the kids need before hand. I don't know, is it just me or would it be easier for everyone that way? They don't even have anything posted on the website. The website is actually completely absolutely useless in every sense. I don't even know why have one if it's not helpful. Anyway.... but we are all so excited and that should be fun!
Amber is doing so great with using the bathroom. She's gotten to the point where she needs to wipe herself every time which i think is really good for her age. I am no longer carrying around the potty in the car either. Because she can actually hold it so that i can take her into any available restroom. She hasn't been peeing at night either, but because i don't have a washer/dryer anymore, i still put a diaper on her at night just in case. I basically end up reusing that diaper for 4-5 days until its just so reshapen that i have to throw it out! LOL But it's still dry! :-) Still no progress with the whole speech issues. She's trying to say more words but its still so little in comparison to what it should be, and well, she still can't make out a lot of sounds and pronounce things even remotely close to what they should sound like. My ped.s office is telling me to contact again Early steps and find out why they recommend we send her to speech therapy, when they are the ones who offer it for free! The staff just didn't understand how they can tell me to get the services but they send me elsewhere! And another problem with that is that since i moved, my caseworker had then told me that they will send Amber's case to the office that is closer to my now current address. She said if they don't call within two weeks to give her a call. Well, its been over two months and they never called, and I've been calling her and all I get is her voicemail, and she never calls me back! I have no clue where i'm suppossed to go with her now! I"m just at a point where i'm going to start calling around like crazy to get something done because FL offers speech therapy free until they are 36 months, so I have till May to get her still into that before i have to pay. And the funny thing is, when they evaluated her, they determined that she does qualify for the speech therapy and they said that they will provide it, but yet i can't seem to get a hold of anyone! So i'm very frustrated with this because I really want to help Amber out and have her start talking at least somewhat more closer to the level she should be talking at. But she's a character! Happy as ever and her new obsession is Cinderella! I got her the dvd and the Cinderella III as well. Let me tell you, she can watch those two movies over and over and over all day long! she just loves them! And luckily this has h elped me win a battle with her. She didn't want to give up her nightime bottle, and she saw a cinderella sippy cup that she fell in love with, and well, no more bottles for Amber! You know i'm very very happy with that!
Kyle.... boy, so little but growing so fast. Within a matter of a week he started to crawl! The little guy still refuses to sit on his own unsupported, though he can for a few seconds if he doesn't push back with his legs. But he's crawling everywhere! It's too cute how he chases the vacuum! Ha ha! And he does it so fast, you really have to vacuum fast so to avoid him and not to run over his little hands as well! He loves to eat anything at this point. I'm still hesitant to give him more table foods as he still has only two teeth, but he's learning better to grind the food with his gums, so slowly he's getting more and more of that. End of this month, i' ll start him on stage 3 and see how he does. Loves to splash in the water and loves to take off his diaper! That has been a disaster! lol So needless to say, he needs to have something on to prevent those from happening! Kids love him as always and he gets so much love from them! And him and the dog, OMG.... they are like best buds. Bobo is getting more accustomed to Kyle laying on him and boy does he love to kiss him all over! I wish i had my camera to take some new pics of all this love! :-) (amber broke my camera)
Anyway, so with all this going on and just life in general, i have been quite quiet. I guess it was time to vent! Thanks if you got this far and sorry it was so long.
