Almost Done!
So here I am, last week of my externship and I'm so happy! It has gone by quickly but also way way too slow due to the circumstances I have been dealing with. I learned some interesting things today as well, which i'll blog about when I get home (when i get a chance to get online). But yes, just today and tomorrow and I'm done with this working for free stuff! lol
Holiday shopping is all done. I still have a few presents to wrap that MIL sent for the kids and I haven't had the chance to wrap them yet. And all i have left is to decorate my personal gifts that i'm making for the females in the family; recipe in a jar gifts. One is a cake, and another one is brownies. I thought it was more personal and a clever idea rather than trying to figure out what to buy these ladies and I have no clue what to buy them. Now let me give you some background on this. My MIL is bent out about "us" buying presents for everyone in the family. Her excuse is... "well, they buy presents for the kids so you have to get them something in return." or the other excuse.... "he/she is the godparent of your child, you have to get him/her something." Now, in my world, those two reasons do not mean i'm obligated to buy the adults a gift because they choose to buy gifts for my kids. But in my MIL's world, yes, i'm obligated to buy the adults gifts. Another perfect example of this; one of her sisters got divorced this year. She is with a new man. Now this man is not getting anything for my kids, and her sister giving my kids gifts because she chooses, has absolutely nothing to do with her new man. So.... my MIL feels we have to give him a present. I asked why? Her response, "so he doesn't feel bad that he wont' get anything while he's spending the holidays with our family." Now seriously, is this a reason i have to give this strange man, as far as i'm concerned, a gift? I'm sure he won't be getting anything for us or for the kids, so why am i obligated to give him a gift? So anyway, to make this shorter, I decided to give hand made gifts, hence the recipe in a jar. That way, they can have a nice, thoughtful gift and eat it too! lol So i hope they'll enjoy it, although i know personally myself and my husband will not receive a gift from them in return for having a gift for their kids. That's how the normal world works, at least in my mind, and well, my MIL seems to think otherwise. LOL So yeah... almost done with all of that stuff.
I honestly can't wait for Christmas to be over. It's just too much stuff going, and although i'm looking forward to spending time with family, I also can't wait for all this money and other nonsense to be over that comes along with the holidays.
Ha ha... i think my rant for the day is over! lol I'll try to post later when i'm at home.
