me and reading
So lately i've been reading non stop. Rather than sitting online or just in front of the tv when i'm not doing anything else, i've been reading. And lots. I'm almost done with my third book for this month, i know it's really not a lot in comparison to many other people who read a lot more than me, but for me, it is a lot. I always have trouble finding books I like and if it doesn't capture me right away, i just give up. Right now i'm reading A Woman's Place by Lynn Austin. I just happened to see it and thougth it might be interesting. I'm actually very much into the book and am now interested in reading more by this author. I have such a hard time finding books i like so it's great that this one came so easily.
Speaking of books, i wanted to write about this when i finished it but never got around to it. I had finally gotten around to finishing reading I am Legend. We have the movie and both Frank and I love the movie. The book, just completely totally ruined it for me. The book was absolutely NOTHING like the movie. It was in San Francisco, not NY, he wasnt' a military doctor, he was a regular loser off the street who was the only one left so he did his best reading medical and science books to understand what had "medically" happened. He was a total drunk, oh yeah, he was white. He didn't have a dog; he later on finds a dog that it takes him a long time to actually get the dog to warm up to him to only 2 weeks later be transformed into one of those things. There was no woman and child. There was no survivors making a new start as in the ending of the movie, but the infected "living" people were making a new start and in turn kill him because he is the only normal human being left. And that is why he said he is Legend. I thought it was just horrible. Whether the movie directors strayed from the book and story itself, i just hated it because the movie was so much better. I was so disappointed to have read that book! lol
