Hello, I am April (nicknamed "Ape"), of Ape's Flower Power Shar-Pei. My husband Marty and I adopted our first Shar-Pei child 19 years ago, but were completely blown away by our first Flowered Shar-Pei, Skye, 9 years ago. Now we have a thing for "spots!" The Flowered Shar-Pei, referred to in some kennel clubs as the Chinese Flowered Dog, has a coat that is at least 50% white, with another color forming spots and ticking. Flowered Shar-Pei have a quite striking appearance! The current AKC Breed Standard for the Shar-Pei calls for a solid colored coat, therefore, at this time these dogs are disqualified from the Conformation showring.
