Our love affair with Irish Setters started 21st Jan 1983 when we went to see some puppies at 2wks old. Well, that was the end; we were back every weekend to see the puppy dog we had picked. His name was to be McGinty. We picked him up at 8 wks to the day. We had said that we only wanted a pet but the breeder hounded us to show him we only did it to keep the breeder quiet and have been showing ever-since.

We had been told that you really should have 2 (double the fun).

We had seen a bitch in the show ring which we thought was rather nice and decided we would like a puppy from her, we brought our little girl Fieldworthy Double Ace (Reegan) home 15th June 1985.

In early 1988 we moved to the country and planned to have puppies. Our 1st litter was whelped 17 May 1988, Strabahn was born with this first litter. We kept a bitch; Sinead of Strabahn (Cassie) and a dog, Ronan of Strabahn(Ronan) both of whom went onto become champions.

Our next litter was born12th Dec 1993. We kept a bitch from that Fallon of Strabahn (Fallon). Fallon, along with two litter sisters have obtained championship titles. Rosemary of Strabahn earned a title in agility (ADX) we believe she is the first Irish to do so in New Zealand or Australia.Rosemary now has her neice with her Kacey of Strabahn(Darraghs sister)just starting her agility training.

Next we have Sheridan of Strabahn(Sheridan) born19th Dec 1996 and is still working on her title.Sheridans 1st litter born 13th May 2000 produced NZ Ch Darragh of Strabahn,Kacey of Strabahn,Ali'i of Strabahn(who lives in Hawaii) and 3 others in pet homes.

Fallon's 1st litter produced Lord Coogen of Strabahn and Lord Magee of Strabahn.Her last litter born 25th Nov 2001 produced 2 girls and 3 boys We have Phoenix Of Strabahn(Codey) at home and is coming along nicely in the show ring, Henry and Tara live in Hawaii,Retro will be doing obedience and conformation,with Shannon going to a nice pet home

Photos and pedigrees of Donagher and Darragh are now included in site,they are now starting their showing.

We had the pleasure of having ATIR with us for 7 years until a heart problem took him from us.A SALUKI by breed but by living with 5 Irish Setters he became more like a gundog(we called him our ARAB SETTER)he was quite at home hunting,catching birds and acting like the Irish but still retaining his Saluki aloofness.
