Sad but true: thousands of perfectly healthy, loving, homeless cats and kittens are put to sleep annually in the U.S. alone. Whether
because of superstiton, prejudice, or simply because they blend into the shadows in the back of the cage, black cats are
statistcally less likely to be adopted than more brightly colored felines.
Less sad, but equally true: If you're like many goths, you've thought about getting a cat. And you've said to yourself, "it will have
to be black. I don't need white cat hair on my velvet." Deep in your heart, you know that black cat hair will show up on the
velvet too, but let's face it, black cats are oh-so-goth. Unfortunately, the local SPCA is only open until four in the afternoon and
you haven't quite made it out there yet.
