I returned to this site and read some guestbook comments. I am an 18-mth old liver and white girl who will be competing in her first obedience trial in early December. I am nervous and excited. In conformation I won 2 points in my first show in May. I hope to have a long and successful career in obedience. I have a field english springer spaniel named Chloe. We use her for duck hunting and I must say that she is all the dog we'll ever need! She is so many dogs all rolled up into one 50 lb power house! Smartest dog I've ever owned! She is not only fun to wn - she is funny! Her mannerisms, facial expressions, willingness to ALWAYS please and personality, make her, in my oh so biased opinion, the most excellent dog in the world! "Springers are the best!" Was kind of worried while she was growing up, she is now 3, because her mom was a show springer and her dad was a field springer. She did not come into her own as a field spaniel until about 18 months of age - what I mean is - she started growing feather like a show springer - yuck - but luckily she never sprouted real long show springer hair. We still shave her twice a year, once for summer, once for hunting season. She is small, but real birdy and will not come back from her hunt until she finds her duck - sometimes up to 15 mins! She tried to retreive a goose but it was too big for her so she just stood on it until we could find her! Now that's a hunting dog! Nice to know there are others out there like me - folks who love spingers! Thanks! Debbie

I used to have an English Springer Spaniel. I cheered Robert on to victory in 1993 at Westminster and tonight cheered his daughter, Samantha, on to victory. Gypsy, my springer was with me for 3 years. I had to find a new home for her because we were tr velling with construction work and there just weren't enough hotels/motels that would accept dogs. It broke my heart. Your page has brought tears of joy to my eyes! All the love I had for that dog has sprung to my heart again. The spirit and love of t ese dogs is immeasurable. My companion Susan has become a little depressed lately. She is having a hard time handling the fact I am getting old and everything is just harder for me to do. She's never been with a dog before I,m her first and she has become extremely attached to me. She found me in a shelter and fell head over heels right away, of course it's because I am so beautiful and I gae her the saddest look I could. We don't know my age because I was a stray but we guess it was around 1 year. Now I am around 10 years or so. Hi, I have been here before, but didn't have a web page until now. Just made one for the 6 week old litter my Amber just had. I am thrilled with what she has produced, even though it is all boys. As you can see by the pictures I got 3 with open coats l ke in the old days and 2 of the 4 are tri colored. I am getting nothing else done that should be done, but these boys will be gone before I know it. I was just adopted from a scary place......and have come to live with my folks, and a new dog....he seems okay, but he sure is big! I was so happy to leave the SPCA, but I hated it that we couldn't rescue everyone there! I will get used to my new people s on........they are nice to me, and pat me lots..........and when I am good, I get one of those good treat things!
