At Evastaff we have over a decades experience in the breed. We have owned and/or bred numerous Australian Champions, having also won numerous in Group and In Show Awards. Evastaffs commitment to the breed was demonstrated further in 1993 with the importation of 2 Staffords from Donnella's Staffordshire Bull Terriers U.K. In February 1998 we achieved our highest accolade by winning BEST EXHIBIT IN SHOW (All Breeds) at Ulverstone Kennel Club under international All breeds judge Mrs. M. Boyd (New Zealand). Our bloodlines enable us to consistently produce a variety of colour such as brindle, black/brindle, red, white and pied. We occasionally have quality puppies available to approved homes. Our stud dogs are available at Stud to approved bitches. Contact us for a copy of our comprehensive breed booklet, which contains photo's, pedigrees and breed information. A video is also available upon request.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier Breed - In General The Staffordshire Bull Terrier originates in Great Britain, where it was officially recognised by the British Kennel Club as a pure breed in 1935.
Originally bred for the sport of "pit fighting", and being derived from a cross between the Old Bulldog and English White Terrier (now extinct), the breed has progressed to being one of the most popular breeds in modern society today.
Whilst its origins are "blood sport" related, the Stafford is renowned for its reliability as a family dog. They are extremely lovable dogs, being loyal and devoted to man, with special emphasis on their reliability with children. They absolutely adore children and are devoted to them and their owners for life. The breed thrives in the family environment, being a suitably compact size for close family living. Being short coated they require nominal grooming, and are very low maintenance. They are extremely "people friendly" and for these reasons we find that they normally make a very poor watchdog. The intelligence of the breed is well documented and has been further recognised in recent years with their involvement and success in obedience.
Notwithstanding the above, it must be understood that the Staffordshire Bull Terrier in most instances will "fight" when challenged by another dog and should be adequately controlled in public places. Staffordshire Bull Terrier owners have a certain obligation to Society, and should always ensure that their dogs are correctly and adequately housed and not allowed to roam freely in public and in the vicinity of unfamiliar dogs. It is always good advice to avoid allowing your Stafford to make eye to eye contact with strange dogs, as this is normally seen as a challenge.
