Hi! My name's Chip. My family and friends sometimes call me Chippie or Chiparoo. My daddy often calls me
Pupperone, because Pupperoni is the name of one of my favorite snacks.
I'm a young Bichon Frise entering my fifth year of life. (See the pictures of my 1st birthday party on Gallery Page 2.) I was born on August 27, 1998. My parents, Kathy and David, adopted me just a couple of months later. I now live with them and my three feline counterparts. My real brother, Bear, lives just a few blocks away with Kathy's mom and dad. I love to go over to his house and play! |

My two feline friends are Nicky and Alex. I like to chase them around. Nicky doesn't
like it and he never chases me back. But Alex, a.k.a. Alley Cat, likes being chased and
often returns the favor.
Alley also likes to bat me in the face. We call this "THE PAW OF DEATH." Good thing she's declawed! :•Þ |

I love to play. My mommy and daddy have bought me many toys. My favorites are Bunny (my very first toy) and my "whiney" caterpillar. When I'm sad, I carry the caterpillar around squeeking it and whining at the same time. This makes everyone feel sorry for me! I used to play with "Ralph" the giraffe, but he lost his legs and his head. Finally one day, his torso just disappeared. I suspected foul play! I also really enjoy some activities that Mommy and Daddy seem to disapprove of. I can't understand why they yell at me when I dig in the yard and get all muddy (see my photo gallery). |

This was my pet! Her name is Lucy Locket. She's a yellow-bellied slider. We found her in the lake at the park where we often go for walks. She was so cute that I asked Mommy and Daddy if I could keep her. They said yes, but after a couple of years she got too big to keep in an aquarium. Mommy, Daddy and I took Lucy back to her lake and set her free. I miss her, but I know she's happier being with other turtles. |

Here's my best cat friend, Max. Mommy and Daddy adopted him a year after they got me. Another black cat! What's with them?
Since he was just a kitten at the time, I was able to guide him in the right direction. I taught him how to play like a dog. We love to wrestle, tumble, and nip. The only time we disagree is when he eats my snacks or tries to take the best snuggle spots on the bed. |

OH MY! Another critter joins the Block Menagerie. This is Cory. He is a Nanday Conure which is a type of parrot. Daddy likes to call him Mr. Peeps, because he has such a loud, ear-splitting squawk. In fact, when I begin to bark loudly, Cory starts trying to top me with his screeching. This doesn't seem to make Mommy to happy, but I kind of enjoy the contest. I haven't made my mind up about him yet. I've tried to be friendly, but he wants nothing to do with me or the cats. It may take him a while to get used to us. |

is Sam. He's
my best friend. He ran out in front of Mommy's car during November of 2001. She
brought him home and cleaned him up.
I was really jealous for about a day! Then, I realized how badly I wanted another dog to play with. I asked if we could adopt him. So when nobody claimed him, Sam joyfully joined the Block Menagerie. Sam and I play together all day with short breaks for naps of course! Even Max enjoys playing with Sam. I'm so much more happy now that Sam is my brother :•Þ |

Ch. Special Times Just Right is my hero. J.R. won the BEST IN SHOW at both the 2001 Westminister Kennel Club Dog Show and the AKC-Eukanuba American Dog Classic. He's the first Bichon Frise to win the top spots. Now when I go for a walk in the park or to visit Petsmart, people don't call me a poodle anymore. They finally recognize me as a Bichon Frise.
