Hi, we are Ken and Bobette Walden of Northwoods Kennels. Northwoods Kennels is a small kennel in north east Washington, about 65 miles north of Spokane.

We have had malamutes off and on for about 16 years, but just became serious about them in the past 6 years. We are members of I.N.W.A.M.A.(Inland North West Alaskan Malamute Association) of which Ken is currently serving as president.

All of our dogs are Cerf Certified, CHD clear by AMCA and OFA Certified good or excellent.

Fauna

At this time we have 3 malamutes. A 5 1/2 year old light sable and white female Canadian Champion, Tundratwilight of Northwoods (Fauna); she has her majors and only needs 2 points to finish her AKC Championship. She has a WPD (Working Pack Dog) title and runs with our friend, Bob Daymude's team and is working on a Team Dog Title.

Misha

Our other female is a 3 1/2 year old seal and white American Champion, Northwoods Ursula Nordica (Misha); she is currently the #19 Alaskan Malamute (system 1) with 9 Best of Breeds in a short 4 month show career. She has half of the requirements done for her pack dog title and also runs on Bob Daymude's team.

Rocky

Our third dog is a male that was born in June 1998. He will be starting his show career this summer. We purchased Rocky from Lynda St. Jhoure of Windchaser Kennels in Minnesota. He is a dark wolf gray and white and is quite a clown. His name is Windchaser's Roc O'Northwoods (Rocky).

We enjoy our malamutes and enjoy the things we do with them. Bobette also has a Havanese that is now 2 1/2 and is her constant shadow. He is our house dog as they do not shed.

If you think a malamute might be in your future look into the breed characteristics and also our link to the AKC standard for the breed. Also, you can find out more about malamutes and related breeds by checking out some of the great pages that are in these webrings.
