I have been a Consultant (#19597) with Homemade Gourmet since August 2005 and I love the food! You can visit my site to see current specials and recipe ideas, sign up for our free monthly e-newsletter and place orders online.  Ask me about our Preferred Club so you can get your items at 20% off, plus you can get FREE items every quarter if you are on a monthly status. The Mission: With God’s help, Homemade Gourmet® strives to bring families back to the dinner table by providing quality, affordable, easy-to-prepare meals, education and direct sales business opportunities.

I just recently added another company to the mix.  I joined The Gourmet Cupboard in October 2008 and their products fill in the gaps that HG doesn't cover and visa versa.  I am Independent Distributor #3806 and I'm looking forward to trying these mixes as well.  They've got lots of coffees and hot chocolates and even popcorn seasonings!

I love my job because every time I go to work, I end up at a party!  Contact me and let's book your Home show today! Don't have time to book a show? Then Show a book! You can email me about either of these companies at denise.vajdak@gmail.com.

My yard - Day 1   Current picture of yard

My Hummingbird Haven:

I enjoy working in my 1-acre yard and I like using native plants when I can.  They tend to do better than most other plants and take a lot less water and attention. Of course, there are always the pass-a-long plants and others that catch my eye, too. I moved onto this site in July 2004 and it was bare dirt.  I've done a lot with it since then.  Give me a few years and I'll have a little shade! Some of my trees are now taller than me.  My yard is certified as Backyard Wildlife Habitat #48908 with the National Wildlife Federation and on May 20, 2008 it was certified as Texas Wildscapes #4018. You can see a list of the plants in the yard by visiting my Birds and Blooms page. I cater to the hummingbirds, since they are my favorite, but I also have plants for bees, butterflies and other wildlife. I have 3 bluebird houses and have had several clutches of eggs to hatch and fledge out into the world. My next big item on the "wish list" is to add a pond.  Right now, all I have is a "puddle".  It's a couple of little ponds about 2 feet across, but they have already held frogs and snakes.

I love to go camping when I get the chance and I like fishing, too.  I go hunting for deer every now and then.  I'm not into bird hunting all that much.  I'd rather shoot them with my camera.
