Two years almost to the DAY this excruciating hell commenced, and one day before her 6th birthday, a large piece of my life, and a big piece of my family was returned to me as we emerged from the courtroom VICTORIOUS! Out of the bleak, dank, depths of the mire, we fought, and fought, and fought, and it FINALLY paid off... my daughter is HOME, and we can begin to rebuild the shambles that Child Protective Services made of our lives.
FEBRUARY, 1999:What about Lisa, you ask? Well, as I said, the BATTLE has been won, but the WAR is far from over. She is still in the custody of her paternal grandfather, and every weekend we have her over we see the deep-running scars that have been made upon her, and it breaks my heart to know what she is going through. We HAVE progressed through this muck and mire, much to the dismay of her grandfather, and that's a blessing, something to be thankful for, but it's sure taken its toll on all of us in the LONG process, especially Lisa. She has been utterly destroyed by all of this and it manifests itself in so many ways, and it tears me apart, knowing it will take a lifetime to repair what that monster has put her through for his own selfish gain. She has made it clear where she wants to be, and has also made it clear to us the nightmare she has endured (though unfortunately we seem to be the only ones listening.). The road is long, and steep, and filled with dangers from every side... but on April 30th (the next court hearing), we plan to emerge victorius once more from that very courtroom, with both of my daughters in our arms, and to begin to rebuild as we leave behind the wreckage and the damage that has been wreaked by CPS in the name of their perverted "justice"....
