ECHO HILL SOUTH ASSOCIATION Notes on meeting with members of the Conservation Commission, examining our ponds, May 22, 1998, 8:30 AM Present for the Conservation Commission: Jim Scott, Karen Searcy, Bob Cummings and Jim Ellis. Present for the EHSA Board and/or Pond Committee: Chuck Gillies, Joe Kunkel, Howard Reep, Anne Tiberio and Bob Tuthill. Members of the Conservation Commission were given a tour of the ponds, beginning at the outflow on Stony Hill, covering the park area southwest of the south pond, examining the inflow at 16 Cranberry and the delta forming at the north end of the north pond and then walking along the brook behind 12 and 14 Cranberry. EHSA members described their interest in stopping the deterioration of the ponds and making them more attractive for residents. Jim Scott, for the Commission, summarized with the following: (1) we should write up a one page description of what we want to do to submit to the Commission, which clearly has jurisdiction over the matter; (2) the Commission will locate particulars of the statutes for our guidance; (3) he said that some clearing out and some variety of flow regulator at the outflow would be O.K. and (4) that a path all the way around the pond would not be acceptable.
