We left for Vacation a day earlier than planned(Sep 7th)
We wanted to stop at both Coon Rapids & Cornell, before
heading for Milwaukee. I had to leave work early on Sunday, as it
is a 20 hour drive from Coleman to Brad & Lisa's.
We left Coleman just after noon and drove for 10 hours to Weyburn, Sask. to
spend the night. Monday, it was on the road early to make it to the Nelson's,
and we made it there in time for supper. Kermit was there slaving over a hot Bar-B-Q!
september 20 - arrived in Luling, TX
September 22: Left El Paso early headed north, through New Mexico and into Arizona. Arrived in Casa Grande, checked into the motel and drove about a mile to Aunt Sylvia's. We had her address and got great directions from Google, but we didn't know that she lived in Cypress Point (apartment/duplex complex for retired people) and that her unit was Number 402. But, thanks to the cell phone I bought in Tenn, I called from down the block and got further driving instructions. When I called, Karen answered the Phone! She had come to spend the day. We had a nice chat and then Jerry and Denise (Dee) showed up. Later, Karen and Sylvia joined Betty and me for supper. It was a nice visit, and really great to see cousins that I hadn't seen for maybe 50 years.
