Hi Mr. Friedman,
I am getting in touch with you for my daughter. At this time she is serving our country in Saudi Aribia, (thanks to Saddam). Anyway I promised her I would try to find a way to wish you a happy birthday for her. She is one of your biggest fans. I have m
iled many of your books to various places on this earth. Mr. Friedman, if it is at all possible, could you please send her your autograph? Since she has all your books and almost all your music I would not know what to offer to buy to get it. When s
e is stateside again she is going to Texas to one of your concerts as she is just really taken with your style of writting and singing. Her name is Amber, but she likes to go by Chris. If you can do this you could mail it to the following address. Amb

Much thanks for all your time. As a Mom, with a daughter so far away, I just would like to do something for her as she is over there doing so much for me.

When you first pick up one Kinky's book, the turn of the page disolves any thoughts that this guy cannot be for real. The word's that he pens are the vibrant tones of his skewed paint-by-number story book. I'm pissed that I had to wait so long to see hi
writing. It's pure and simple fun reading!

Just picked up one of your books-found it highly entertaining. Will have to buy one of your CD's also. P.S. To Kinky: Vandam street in Manhattan is NOT the "Village"-it's SOHO.

Ah, Kinkster! Sometimes, when it's Sunday night, I miss the old days at the famed Lone Star Cafe. Not often, of course, but sometimes. I remember particularly the famed Moe Hamburger, flying across the stage as you and the Jewboys sent Mort Cooperman

I hope you're well, young man.

Well, Mr. Kinky, for some reason my husband, MIKE KRISS, LOVES you (in a but-doesn't-want-to-touch-you kind of way, if you know what I mean). Don't get me wrong, I don't hate you or anything like that, and you are a little funny sometimes, but sheeeeesh.
Our son, EDAN KRISS, will be at Echo Hill Ranch this June for his second year, and hopes to see you there. Suggestion for your books: you know how Kenny dies in each SouthPark show? How about doing that to Willie? I think that would be hysterical! Be

Hi,
Have you any idea how dumb a bunch of middle aged men can seem discussing episodes from your books? Everyone I meet who has read your stuff is an adict - everyone who reads one at my suggestion becomes one.
Fore reasons I can't quite understand wives seem to think obsesions with comic country songs, whiskey and Stephanie du Pont are childish. What do they know? Dicovering that the songs are real and wondering what else might be has helped many a pint on it's
way.
Keep it up! Even boring old farts need hero's.

WOW! You sure know how to throw a party. Dave and I got to come to the Bonefit with some neighbors of ours, and we really had a great time. I'm extremely pleased that the ranch is doing well. All of your guests were great and the music was fantastic. It w
s a much younger crowd than last year's bonefit I'd say. But I probably made at least 5 new friends---all from standing in line for the porta-potties. It was all great. I even saw you pass by as we were standing in line to get in. I was just too shy to ca
l out your name. But I'm sure if I'd said "Hey there Mr. Friedman!", you'd have known it was me because I'm the only person in the world that calls you that.
I just want to let you know that if you need me for stuff, I'm here. I've actually got some time to volunteer or I can send some dough your way----or whatever----but I hope you don't think I'm disinterested or wanting to be out of touch. It's just not tr
e. Keep up the fabulous work.
Your pal,
kat sherby

Hey Kinkstah!
Was happy to discover that you're coming back to California next weekend—with Carl Hiaasen, even! After learning that you had to cancel an earlier appearence, I was sad. Had a wonderful time last autumn, when we sat around in Coffee, Tea and Mystery in We
tminster singing all the old songs and talkin' about books and dogs and cats.
I must say that you were quite well received by all the older women who sang the songs. The event was the highlight of many of our lives (we do live such sad lives, what with the overabundance of sunshine and cool ocean breezes every day).
Look forward to the April Fool's Day event.

Thanks, Kinky. Your books are wonderful. And they are full of wonder.
I have seen the photographs of Cuddles. She is a beautiful cat.
As a cat person (I am owned by a very large black and white cate) I think I recognised the look on Cuddles' face in the photograph: "What the hell is my human doing NOW?"
I always get the idea that we humans are a constant source of surprise and amusement to them.

Just finished "Armadillos...". Everyone knows about how you render us helpless with laughter. However, what was so wonderful about this book is your humanity -- I could feel the Texas heat, be there for the sunsets, sit under the stars...and most import

Hello fellow Kinkster fans.
I'm sitting here in Sweden and I'm just waiting for the next Kinky novell to warm up the climat.
It's all snowy and freezing here but a new book would solve that problem pretty fast.
I had the opportunity to watch Kinky play in my hometown Gothenburg a couple of months ago and that was worth waiting for.
Great man with a great attitude.
Well, I'm off to work right about now, but there's an old Kinky book waiting for me so I'll survive the boredom at work.

I have been a fan of Kinky for some time now. However, tonight I am wrestling with very difficult dilemna. Aside from Kinky's obvious talented literary skills, he and I also have something in common . . . admiration for Dwight Yoakam. To get to the poi
t, I am reading "Spanking Watson" tonight and was thoroughly enjoying it, until I got to the part where he states: "Beats watching Seinfeld". Being one of Seinfeld's number one fans, I HAVE to know . . . does Kinky really not enjoy the best half hour of
comedy to ever be aired on television? If someone could please get back to me on this subject I would greatly appreciate it. It is very important to me that I know Kinky's real feelings toward Seinfeld. Thanks for your time. -Babs

Great books and you've inspired me to return to
listening to country music. I've read several books and just got "How To Lose Friends and Irritate People". Now I just have to complete the
book colletion and start in on the music. How about a signing for the next book at Barnes & Noble in San Antonio (1604 & 281)? Or a concert in S.A.?
Comments:
I continue to enjoy Kinky's books. I cracked up on the subway on the way to work today while reading a particularly raunchy passage from 'Blast From the Past'(the passage was one where Kinky described the title of one of Chinga Chavin's songs). People w
re staring at me because I was laughing so hard out loud. I say, 'Let 'em stare'. It's a cruel world and anyone who consistently can make me laugh and write a helluva good mystery on top of it has a fan in me.

when he sings "Dear Dr. Howard come down from your tower and join me for lunch at THE Y." Does he refer to the YMCA or Brigham Young University? I was just wondering.
At any rate, I am a big fan and am starting a fan club here at school.

So there's more than two Kinky fans in the world? That's amazing, grace! I shoulda guessed it from the fact that Messrs Simon and Schuster still pay him to write funny. I still quote the lyrics from "They Ain't Makin Jews..." to befuddled acquaintances
who then ease slowly away from me. It's a tragedy to be understood too well. Glad you brought some culture to Manchester and York, Australia and Germany, but we need you in CA in San Jose (maybe at the Saddle-wreck or Fuel 44, where Chris 'n' Chris woul
welcome you) or in Santa Cruz at Kuumbwa or Palookaville. Y'all come on by. Leave the sushi for the cat.

You rock! You make me proud to be an obnoxious, over-educated, spoiled, dope-smokin', hell-raisin', unapologetic third-generation Houstonian! Did you REALLY play that chess match? I've never been to NYC, but know several people there from different worl
s, i.e. thugs from Hell's Kitchen, actors from the Upper West Side, investment bankers and general anal-retentives from Wall Street, and Dieter Esch, the idiot who owes me $500 bucks and owns Wilhemena Models but put it in his daughter's name to insulate
is stolen assets. At any rate, whenever I speak to friends from New York or people who know the city, they freak out because I tell them: I want to go to Sheridan Square and the Monkey's Paw and Dim Sum! Number One!
If you get bored one day, check out the J-C Ranch in Rock Island (but don't speed, because the cops in Sealy will rape you) or the Star-J Ranch in Jewitt (just outside Buffalo; halfway between Houston and Dallas, and not far past the huge anthracite coal
ine which helps power both metropoli). Is metropoli correct? Like Hippopotami? Whatever. Have a nice day.

Come back to Germany soon, Kinky ! It's not that much different from the beautiful Hill Country, is it?
Keep up that excellent job!

All the best and see you next year?!

Kinkster,
Thanks for the interview - hope the cigars were of use. Remember in Perth you told Little Jewford that you thought you`d just told the Willie Nelson story already? You had - to me..
Anyhoo, see you again soon!

Hi Kinky,
I have been living in the Solomon Islands for three years. Included in my survival kit was "More Kinky Friedman". Mind you, there is no shortage of laughter material here, but it's good to have you around.
I recently made two astonishing discoveries - I found a bookshop, not only did it sell real books, but there's more; I actually found "Crime Club" WOw. Never again will I call Honiara a cultural wasteland.
If the US ever leaves you high and dry for inspiration, come and spent a while on planet Solomon. I kid you not.

Enjoyed your show at Newcastle yesterday. I laughed like a drain. Have been playing CD all day! Pathetic really.

Just wanted to say Thanks for everything...the nights I ripped through one of your books...the winter you got me through ...I discovered your books that winter....and read the 1st five..and now wait impatiently until each new one comes out...they keep on
etting better....I like to think I am a writer...I read a book like yours and I am right..I'd like to THINK I am a writer...you are a writer..and I am but one of your many fans..If you ever make a movie from any book...you KNOW there's no one else to play
Ratso but Richard Kramer...I've never decided who I would pick as you...I'd like to see you play your own self...I've seen you on a t.v. show or two (or perhaps it was only two..smile)..and a Bravo or PBS special a time or two..you didn't exactly hurt the
eyesight...smile...
One of the joys of finally being on-line is I might finally catch up with your books...before I have to go on the "waiting list" at the local library.
PS: Your writing on Cuddles..confirmed what I've suspected all along..underneath all that bluster is a marshmallow..(sorry if I offended).
PS: Your discourse on the great Jewish men of history was pure wonder!! Unfortunately, I was reading this passage while on the bus on my way home from work...trust me...there is no dignity to laughing helplessly and loudly and not being able to stop...w
ile holding up a book with the cover of "Spanking Watson"...
Thanks again for all the great moments your books have given me...

Dear Kinky,
Just writing in to tell you I saw you at the Brook in Southampton and really had a blast(is that what you yanks say).I didn't really know much about you but my jewish friend convinced me to go along.Well as it turned out the Hassidic one didn't turn up(so
e crisis or other) and there I was surrounded by some pretty strange people and then on comes on Warren Oates kosher twin brother singing the most politically incorrect reverential parodies of C&W this side of ShelSilverstien's rotting and stoned corpse.H
was accompanied by creepiest yet lovable sidekick little Jewford who was a cross between a 50's radio announcer and child molester.
Thankyou for a beautiful and memorable night
from a grateful recovering catholic

I just finished reading "Spanking Watson".
I have all your music, and love it all. I originally bought the book because
of your music and the fact that there is a dispatcher at the taxi company
that I work for named Watson. Anybody who would spank him is n my favorites
list to begin with. Good book, very funny and I love your sense of humor.

Hello fellow Kinksters. I had a most wonderful
evening past Saturday night here in Gothenburg. Why, you might wonder.
Because Mr Kinky Friedman paid our nice city and performed at The Gillestugan.
A faboulus spectacle I might say. Kinky and Little Jewford held us all
spellbound through the evening. Can't remember when I laughed so much like
I did that night. So if you guys are able to go and see The Kinkster yourself
so do so or it will be your los . Greetings from a cold Gothenburg, Sweden
but which did warm up a lot more since Kinkys apperance. Fell free to mail
me at anytime so that we can exchange words
