History
The
Puyallup Tribal Health Authority was established in the early 1970's in
response to the lack of consistent, quality health care available to the
Puyallup and all other Native Americans residing in Pierce county. As one
of the first Indian "Self Determination Clinics", the tribe's medical clinic
has grown from a mobile home to occupying modern, attractive, and culturally
designed buildings. The staff of over 170 well trained professionals and
technicians provide nationally accredited health care to a population that
exceeds 32,000.
