Mrs. Catherine Bannerman Daniel of Red Deer passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on March 8, 1993 at the age of 77 years.
Catherine was born on January 22, 1916 at Edmonton, to Margaret and Donald MacLeod, and raised on the family farm at Lake Isle. She received her high school education at Edmonton and then took her teacher training at the Camrose Normal School. Subsequently she taught in several one room schools in the Wabamun district. In 1942 Catherine was united in marriage to Darold Daniel and they resided at Entwistle. In 1956 they mived to Red Deer where Catherine has resided until her passing. She leaves to mourn her loss four sons, one daughter and their families: Terry, his wife, Lorraine and their children, Brian, Christopher, Andrea and Kimberley; Patrick, his wife, Dora and their sons, Jarrod and Paul; Richard, his wife, Alice and their daughters, Shirley and Sarah; Lorne, his wife, Sandi and their children, Eric, Kate and Darren; and Darolyn, her husband, Wayne Anderson and their children, Mark and Elizabeth; also her three sisters, Margaret Fowlie, Anne MacLeod and Eileen Anderson; sister-in-law, Irma MacLeod, a niece, numerous nephews, several relatives in Scotland and many friends. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Darold in 1988.
Funeral services will be held at the Gaetz Memorial United Church, 4758 Ross Street, Red Deer on Friday, March 1, 1993 at 11:00 a.m. with The Reverend Paul DuVal officiating. Internment will follow in the Red Deer Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, Gaetz Memorial United Church, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
