Bride's Journal

Here's the place I keep track of my many triumphs, disappointments and changes as I plan this wedding.

June 12, 2000

Yesterday was Tonia's birthday.  Happy Birthday Tonia!

As for the wedding... things are moving along.  I submitted my flower order to 2 G Roses on Friday, and they called to confirm.  So that's all set.  One
big accomplishment...we got the invitations in the mail today.  YEAAAH!!! I'm ahead of schedule on that one.  I wanted to get them in by June 15th.  Except for three or four addresses I still need and a couple who's zip codes I had to confirm, all of the invites were dropped off at the post office this morning.

Next up, hopefully the dress shop calling me to tell me my headpiece and veil are in, and I have to put in my order to the ribbon company for the ribbons I'll use for the bouquets, pew bows,  programs, etc.  I found a place that had a better deal on ribbon than Calico Corners, a ribbon company in New Jersey.  The quality is not as high , but they still look beautiful and have all of the colors and widths I need.

July 6, 2000

It's been so long since I've taken the time to put an entry in this journal.  Well, so much has happened since June 12th.  I ordered my flowers.  My veil has come into the bridal shop.  I'll pick up it and my dress on July 10th and have my first fitting on July 12th.

We went to Boston this past weekend.  We got so much done.  We had the tasting at the reception hall.  The food was fabulous!  We went in just knowing we were going to chose one particular entree and ended picking something different.  I'm still very pleased with our decision to choose this location. They seem really great all around.  We also went to City Hall and filed for our marriage license.

And the event which was the most fun...my sister surprised me with my Bridal Shower!!!

It was FABULOUS!!  Tonia did a great job!  It was held at a restaurant called the
Naked Fish.  (Their food and service were so great I promised them I'm put a link to their site on this website.)   We feasted on various platters of fish and seafood and roasted vegetable antipasto.  And the party games varied from the cute to the risque' to the hilarious.  I think it is safe to say that a good time was had by all.  Thank you to all who could make it to the party.

Thank you again Tonia for a wonderful shower.  I loved it, and I love you.

(look out for pictures of the shower on the "Parties" page as soon as I get them from Tia, the "official" photographer.)
