Once you have decided on the career, take some time to look at web sites relevant to this topic. You will need to have at least 2 internet sources and at least one resource from a text (books, magazines, newspaper, or interview). You will have 3 days in class to conduct your research. Here is a few sites that might be useful to your interest search:
You will have 2 days to create the presentation. The minimum requirements for the presentation is include in this rubric. I recommend that you be creative and try to create your presentation in a way that suits you. I expect that you will go above and beyond the minimum requirements. Try to have fun with it. Use information about your topic in conjunction with images, graphics, and animation to create an eye-catching and multi-media text that functions professionally.
The presentation to the class will need to at a minimum of 5 minutes. You should know the content of your presentation, and expect to answers question about your career choice. Part of your grade will come from peer evaluations of your presentation. Please review the "Giving a Presentation" information that should be in your portfolio. This will help you to remember how to give a presentation. Also, review the peer evaluation checklist to know how your peers will be grading you.
