WASHBURN HIGH SCHOOL HONOR PARTS ANNOUNCED -- Principal William C. Foster recently announced the senior honor students of Washburn high school. Dorothy Shorey (left) was awarded the valedictory. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hershel Shorey of Main street and has been very active in all phases of school life, including National Honor society, senior play, editor-in-chief of The Northland, manager of the Curtis-Campaign, French club and sophomore speaking.

Jorene Ballard received second or salutatory. She is the daughter of Mrs. Fern Ballard of Hines street. Journalism, literary editor of The Northland, sophomore speaking and French club have been among her extra activities.

The third honor was awarded to Elocile Churchill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Milford Churchill of Crouseville. In music, junior speaking, National Honor society, journalism, associate-editor of The Northland, French and Home Economic clubs she has always been a willing worker.

Others to receive honor parts and who will represent their class at graduation time will be: Jeanette Gregg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gregg; Wilma and Bernard Blackstone, daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. Reed Blackstone of Perham, Mary Russell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Russell of Main street; Dorothy Sewell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sewell; and Francis Jardine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jardine.
