Services for Harold Kinney, Accident Victim

Services for Harold Kinney, 41, New England Telephone and Telegraph company who was fatally injured Thursday when he was struck by a falling derrick while supervising erection of telephone poles in Fort Fairfield, were held Tuesday afternoon in the chapel of the Graves Funeral home.

The Rev. James Wright officiated, assisted by the Rev. Bernard Patton, the Rev. H. O. McGeorge, and Daniel Pike, all of Presque Isle, and Lee C. Good of Monticello. A large group of telephone company employees attended the services in a body.

Bearers were Stacey Higgins, Harold Dee, Stanley Mattson, and Earl Jordan. Interment was in Fairmount cemetery.

Mr. Kinney died Sunday morning in a Fort Fairfield hospital from injuries sustained in the accident.

He was born in Holmesville, N. B., son of David and Susan Green Kinney. Surviving besides his parents are his wife, Mrs. Ella May Flewelling Kinney; six daughters, Mrs. Ellouise Ackerman, Elma, Evangeline, Ella, Eva, and Elaine; a son, Harold, Jr.; a brother, Cecil Kinney of Mexico; and five sisters, Mrs. Grace Hersom of Mexico, Mrs. Freda Ackerman of Mars Hill, Mrs. Jennie Ferricchia of Charleston, S. C., Mrs. Phyllis Grant of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Maida Thompkins of Framingham, Mass.
