Washburn Principal Lists Honor Parts

WASHBURN, April 15 [1948] -- William C. Foster, principal, Washburn high school, recently announced the following honor parts: Joyce Smith, valedictory; Joan Wilder, salutatory; Walter Terry Campbell, third honor; Floyd Kinney, Zelma Brewer, Dorothy Tarbox and Betty Lou Crouse, honors.

Miss Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Smith, has served as general manager of the Curtiss campaign, as class secretary and treasurer, on the editorial board of the Northland, as a member and president of the Glee Club, and has participated in many other school activities.

Miss Wilder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Wilder, has also been active during her four years at Washburn high school. She has been a member of the Glee Club and the Northland Board, the Journalism Club, the National Honor Society and the orchestra. She is president of the student council this year.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Campbell, has been an agricultural student, Campbell has been a member of the Future Farmers of America, a contestant in the annual science fair, and a member of the cast for the senior play. 1
