FREIGHT WRECK AT WASHBURN

A Bangor and Aroostook wrecking crew is shown at work Sunday preparing to haul back on the track the locomotive of a freight train which was derailed Thursday evening when it smashed into the rear end of another freight train on the Stockholm - Squa Pan cutoff near Washburn. Two trainmen were reported to have jumped to safety from the engine, but nobody was injured in the crash. The rear train and about ten cars of the other southbound freight were thrown off the tracks in the accident.
