Mars Hill Pastor Receives Degree From Bible College

MARS HILL, May 20 [1953] -- The Rev. John A. Wright, co-pastor of the Full Gospel Assembly at Mars Hill was honored last week by the American Bible College of Chicago, Ill., with the Doctor of Divinity degree.

Dr. Wright, formerly of St. George, N. B., came to Mars Hill seven years ago, and conducted Evangelistic services in various churches in the County, at the same time originating "The Gospel Light Hour" broadcast in 1946.

In March of 1948 Mr. Wright re-opened thp Advent church in Limestone and a year later, in conjunction with this work, pioneered and built a new church at Limestone Siding, N. B. In 1950, Mr. Wright joined his wife, Mrs. Norma Wilson Wright as co-pastor of "The Full Gospel Assembly, Inc." of Mars Hill and Blaine.

For the past five years Mr. Wright has been doing degree work and is enrolled as a Theological Student in the American Bible college. He is the author of "The Gospel Light Hour Book." and is now preparing a book entitled, "The Lord's Prayer.''

Dr. Wright is treasurer of the Full Gospel Ministerial Fellowship covering New Brunswick, Maine and various parts of the United States and Foreign Lands. He is also secretary for the Home Missions Association of Aroostook County. 1
