Mrs. Wilder, who had been Sunday school teacher of a junior boys' group for more than 30 years was given a surprise when one of her former pupils, Gerald Cole stood up and began to comment upon the purpose of the occasion.
He presented Mrs. Wilder a corsage on behalf of her former members. Then Mr. Cole introduced Rev. Ondon Stairs, pastor of the Bethany Baptist church in Presque Isle who spoke concerning the Sunday school and its influence on the youth. After his talk, Harry E. Umphrey, a former pupil of Mrs. Wilder, presented her, in behalf of the group, brass collection plates with her name engraved, to be used in the church. The plates will be presented in the church on Sunday morning. A silver broach also was given the guest of honor who responded, recalling fond memories of days when she worked with "her boys" who have since become fathers and grandfathers.
Harry Libby, another pupil, read correspondence from former pupils who were unable to attend. The supper was attended by 125 people, most of whom had been Sunday school pupils.
