Mrs. Bertha (Whittier) Whitehouse was born in Caribou, February 28, 1880, and Mr. Whitehouse was born in Digby, N. S., June 17, 1877. They have two sons, Keith of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Earl of Washburn, also two grandsons, Malcolm and Richard Whitehouse.
The couple was married June 7, 1905, in Augusta, by the Rev. George Colby at the Baptist Church. They lived for a short time in Boston, then moved to Washburn, where they have resided on their farm, spending the winter months in Florida.
During the evening, piano music was furnished by Mrs. Wilmont Churchill and Mrs. Carroll Blackstone, and solos were sung by Mrs. Ruth Burgess of Caribou and Mrs. Nancy Whitehouse of Daytona Beach. Movies were shown by Donald Hersey of Caribou and Kieth Whitehouse, and a tape recorder was included in the program. The guest book was circulated by Mrs. Sylvia Peters of Waterford, Conn.
Mrs. Whitehouse wore a powder blue crepe dress with jacket and her corsage was of chrysanthemums. Bouquets of lilies-of-the-valley and chrysanthemums decorated the house.
Included in the refreshments served was a three tiered wedding cake with "50" in gold lettering, made by Mrs. Fred Urquhart of Presque Isle, Assisting in serving were Mrs. Nancy Whitehouse, Mrs. Mae hllehouse, Mrs. Ruth Burgess, and Mrs. Katherine Hersey.
Mr. and Mrs. Whitehouse are members of the First Baptist Church, of which he is a deacon. The couple received many cards, gifts and sum of money from their many friends and relatives. Approximately 100 attended the anniversary.
