Washburn Baptist Pastor Accepts State Position

WASHBURN, Oct. 25 (1956) -- The Rev. Reuben W. Martin, pastor of the Conservative Baptist Church, has resigned his duties here and has accepted an appointment as State Missionary for the Conservative Baptist Association of Maine.

He will begin his new work in January.

Rev. Martin served the Conservative Baptist here since its inception in August of 1951. He was a member of the Conservative Baptist State advisory board for three years and was co-chair youth leader for one year. He served as assistant director of the Allagash Bible Camp and taught Bible classes at the camp. He has also conducted evangelistic services throughout New Brunswick and Maine.

He is a native of St. Paul, Minn., and received his education at Bob Jones University, Greenville, S. C. His wife is the former Wilda Silver of Washburn. They have three daughters, Virginia Jeanne, Nadeen Carol, and Judy Ann. 1
