Mr. and Mrs. Ballard were married in 1909 by the Rev. Brown Smith at the Baptist parsonage and have always lived in Washburn. They have a son, Eugene and a daughter, Mrs. Faye Thompson, seven gandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Mrs. Ballard wore a gray print dress complemented by a corsage of yellow roses.
The refreshment table was centered with a floral arrangement of snapdragons and carnations, a gift of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Van Norman of Seattle, Wash., former residents of Washburn. Other bouquets received by the couple were from Miss Elsa Robinson of New Haven, Conn., and Miss Florence Sharp of Sanford.
Mrs. Eugene Ballard served at the refreshment table and Mrs. Albion Thompson dipped punch.
Mrs. Nathaniel Churchill grandaughter of the couple cut and served the wedding cake and Mrs. Eugene Annett, sister-in-law of the couple, circulated the guest book. Gifts and a purse of money were received by the honored guests. Approximately 100 friends and relatives attended.
