Carpenter Dies In Fall At Easton

PRESQUE ISLE, June 15 [1959] -- Lincoln L. Flewelling, 54, an Easton carpenter, fell to his death Monday morning at the Clem King Sr. farm, Easton Road.

Deputy Sheriff Richard Carmichael, who investigated, said Flewelling was climbing the underside of a sloping ladder in a silo when the ladder slipped. He dropped 16 feet to the concrete floor, Carmichael said the time of the accident was 8:30 o'clock.

Dr. Arthur P. Reynolds, county medical examiner, said Flewelling landed on the back of his head suffering a fractured skull. He died shortly after the mishap.

Working on the new silo with Flewelling were Clem King, Jr. who lives on the farm and King, Sr.

State Trooper Charles Stewart assisted Carmichael is the investigation.

Flewelling leaves a wife, four daughters and a son.

EASTON, June 15 - Lincoln L. Flewelling, 54, of Easton, died Monday morning after he fell from a ladder while working in a silo at a farn on the Easton road.

He was born in Easton August 15, 1904, the son of Lemuel and Elma Annette (Flewelling) Flewelling. He was a member of the Easton Pentecostal Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dora (Fuller) Flewelling; four daughters, Mrs. Vaida Leach and Mrs. Dorothy Larsen of Easton, Mrs. Phyllis Nadeau of Biloxi, Miss., and Mrs. Doreen Jones of

Mars Hill; a son, Alfred, of Easton; two sisters, Mrs. Ells Kinney of Mars Hill and Mrs. Eva Fuller, Easton; and nine grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Fuller road home Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Easton Pentecostal Church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

The Rev. Roy Wright will officiate.

Burial will be in the family lot, Estey Park cemetery, Easton. 1
