Perham Couple Has Anniversary

PERHAM Oct.29 [1959] -- Mr. and Mrs. Amasa Butterfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary October 14, at the Perham Baptist Church, attended by approximately 200 friends and relatives. Refreshments were served by the Women's Circle of the church. The pourers were Mrs. Annie Hallowell and Mrs. Hazel Everett.

The honored couple received gifts and money.

Mr. and Mrs. Butterfield were married October 4, 1908, in Caribou by the Rev. John McGill.

Mrs. Butterfield daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Parker was born in Fort Fairfield. Mr. Butterfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Butterfield, was born in Castle Hill. They have lived in Perham for many years, where he has been engaged in farming

Mrs. Butterfield was one of the members of the class of 1907 who attended the 50th anniversary of her class, at a reunion held in California last year, guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hardison of Fillmore, Calif.

Mr. and Mrs. Butterfield have three children, Mrs. Audrey Briggs of San Diego, Calif., Mrs. Ella Burns of Newton Center, Mass., and Donald Butterfield of Caribou. They have nine grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Burns of Newton, Mass., their son-in-law and daughter; and Mr. and Mrs. Levi Philbrook of Florence, Mass., brother-in-law and sister of Mrs. Butterfield, were here to spend a weekend but were unable to attend the celebration.
