MARK ANNIVERSARY -- Mr. and Mrs. William Parks of Washburn observed their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday afternoon and evening when open house was held in their honor at the Crouseville Mission Building.
Greeting the guests with the Parks were Mr. and Mrs. Bearl Flewelling of Crouseville.
Mr. and Mrs. Parks were married November 6, 1912 at Easton and have lived for the past 20 years in Washburn, They have four daughters Mrs. Virgie McDonald, Mrs. Adeline Ambrose,
Mrs. Madelile Wilcox of West Chapman, Mrs. Mary Carter of Mapletan and a grandson, whom they raised, Donald Davenport of Stewart, N..Y. There are 16 other grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
During the event the Parks were presented a money tree and other gifts. Presiding at the gift table were their grandparents, JoAnn Wilcox and Betty Ambrose of West Chapman. The wedding cake was cut by Mrs. Ruth White of Crouseville and served by their granddaughters. Juanita and Avis Wilcox of West Chapman and their grandsons, Paul and William Carter of Mapleton. The guest book was circulated by their granddaughter, Frieda Ambrose of West Chapman.
Others assisting in serving were Mr. and Mrs. George Crouse, Mrs. Virgie Crouse, Mrs. Ruth White and Mrs. Jean Donovan of Crouseville. The luncheon table was accented by a centerpiece of fall flowers and candles.
During the evening program Elmer Thompkins of State Road, Mapleton, sang "The Little House on Halleluiah Street" and the Rev. Melvin White of Crouseville gave the prayer and remarks.
Mrs. Parks wore a medium blue dress and a corsage of yellow printed daisies.
