Perham Couple Feted On 50th Anniversary

PERHAM - Mr. and Mrs. Perley Dickinson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house Saturday evening at the Perham Baptist Church. The affair was given by their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Dickinson of Washburn.

An anniversary cake, made by Mrs. Francis Dickinson Perham, was served by Harry Dickinson and Mrs. James McBreairty of Perham. Circulating the guest book was Mrs. Debra Carroll of Caribou, Mrs. Marvin Dickinson of Caribou presided at the gift table. At the punch bowl were Mrs. Roy King and Mrs. John Dickinson. The refreshments were made by the Mission Circle of the church, headed by Mrs. Gladys Clark. Others serving with Mrs. Clark were Mrs. Viola Helstrom, Mrs. Francis Dickinson, and Mrs. Angelia Curtis. The couple received a money tree and other gifts.

A program was held the evening with the Rev. Lloyd Sparks of Washburn offered prayer. Miss Bonnie Tarr of Perham and Exra Miller, Jr., soloed. The Rev. Cockey gave the blessing. At the piano was Mrs. Lloyd Sparks.

Mrs. Dickinson received a corsage of yellow carnations from her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Dickinson.

Mr. and Mrs. Dickinson were married May 9, 1914, in Washburn by the Rev. Mr. Cheney. They have lived in Perham all their lives. They have four sons, Willis of Revere, Mass., Merle of Washburn, Mayford New Sweden and Clovis of Millinocket, and one daughter, Mrs.Maida Waldron of New Milford, Conn., 14 grandchildren and one great - grandchild.
