WASHBURN - Mrs. Myrth Tingley of Wese Suffield, Conn., formerly of Washburn, was recently chosen Gold Star Mother of the Year. Nominated by the American Legion Auxillary, she was honored at ceremonies in which the governor participated and also rode in the Memorial Day parade at West Suffield.
Mrs. Tingley has ten living children: Mrs. Ceola Olsen and Steven Tingley of Washburn, Mrs. Pauline Greenleaf of Caribou, Mrs. Jean Simpson and Mrs. Esta Currier of Presque Isle, Mrs. Ruth Wark, Keith, Lowell and Theodore, all of West Suffield, and Raymond of Hialeah, Fla.
