NEW PASTOR, FAMILY FETED AT WASHBURN

WASHBURN - A reception was held Tuesday evening at the First Baptist Church to welcome the new pastor, the Rev. and Mrs. Eric J. Davidson and family to the community. The Rev. H. Raeburn Cameron of Blaine was master of ceremonies and led the singing. Scripture was read by the Rev. K.J. Coutts of Mapleton.

Special music was presented by people from the surrounding churches. Mrs. Carleton Cockery of Perham sang a solo; Mr. Mavis Brown and Mrs. Joan Plissey, a duet; Mrs. Byron Black of Fort Fairfield, a solo; Waldron Babbidge and Jack Stoddard, a duet; the Rev. and Mrs. John Goodhart of Fort Fairfield, a duet; the Rev. Donald Switzer, a solo; Joan Brown and Dana Woodman, an instrumental duet; Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Blackstone of Perham, a duet; Mrs. Joyce Davis of State Road, a solo; and Mrs. Everett Westine and Mrs. Leland White of Caribou, a duet.

Prayer was offered by the Rev. Donald Switzer, pastor of the Conservative Baptist Church of Washburn. Remarks were made by the Rev. Carleton Cockey, pastor of the Perham Baptist Church, the Rev. John Goodheart, pastor in Fort Fairfield; the Rev. Clark Cole, pastor of the State Road Advent Christian Church; Laurel W. Thompson; the Rev. John MacNeill of Presque Isle and the Rev. Donald Switzer. The Rev. Raymond Murchie pastor of the Washburn and Mapleton Methodist churches, gave the closing prayer and benediction.

The Rev. and Mrs. Davidson and their children, Steven, 13; Ruth, 11; and Timothy, 6 formed a receiving line and greeted guests, after which refreshments were served in Fellowship Hall. 1
